What does it take to work in Library. Preferable elementary school?

Trying to find a job I can do with children of school age that works well for my family. What is needed to work in the school library. Title? Previous experience?

    It depends on where you live.

    In New Mexico I know a librarian who works at an elementary school and she never went to college.

    In California, the schools generally want you to have a bachelors degre and a certificate to be a media teacher. (Or you could be working on your certificate to be a media teacher.) Librarians in California earn pretty good money, if you can get a job.
