Are there comparable numbers of public libraries in the UK? Can anyone borrow books? Do they do similar public programs–example author readings, children’s classes, free computer access? Thanks for any information about the UK library system. (Also would like to know similarities/differences for Ireland/Scotland/Wales etc. )

From book acquisition, to cataloging, to borrowing & returning of books, to overdue payments, to withdrawal and transfer of books, to reservation. I really want to have an overall system flow of a library. A flow chart would be very appreciated.
Why do not all the songs in my Itunes library work in Front Row on my IMAC?
Friday, May 7th, 2010Just switch from PC to Mac, but I have a new iMac. . I transferred all my music to iTunes on my new computer and all the songs work on iTunes. . . . but when he uses the first row does not have all the work songs. . I think most of the songs that work are not my songs on iTunes before I had the Mac. Does anyone know why and how?
Windows Media Player 11 (Vista32bit) won’t play anything, but all other features (library, etc.) work fine?
Wednesday, April 28th, 2010I think I have a pretty unique problem. Currently running Vista 32bit on a Dell Latitude. Every event I try to play a song or video through WMP11 will not play. The music timer sit for about five seconds at 0:00, the change in 0:01, then do not go there. Other features such as browsing through the library to work. WMP not just an accident. Help!
how does a tape library work? how would you go about implementing one in a prod company with over 1000 tape?

Transferable skills aquired through library work?
Tuesday, April 6th, 2010I wondered what other jobs I could apply the knowledge gained through the collection of work (at the level of Library Assistant). I did this job for several years (including customer service centers online). I know that the knowledge will be transferable to the document management features, paper and file. Anything else? In addition, I have no qualifications collection itself.
